Bawren Tavaziva - Teacher

Outreach teaching and participation in workshops were an encouraged part of Tumbuka company life. When Bawren joined Union Dance Company and subsequently Phoenix these skills were further developed.

Bawren has worked with all ages, from children as young as five to adult classes, in community halls and schools throughout the UK, in Europe when on tour and of course in Africa.

Bawren brings to his workshops his enthusiasm for dance and the creative experience. The workshops start with a warm up class in which he introduces his African, Contemporary based movement vocabulary. The class then takes on a creative workshop approach where participants and Bawren discuss ideas and create together.
